Well, Red Sox fans, the bullpen dream got dimmer this offseason.

Instead, the hard-throwing lefty is packing his bags for Los Angeles, where he’ll join the star-studded Dodgers. According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, Scott has agreed to a four-year, $72 million contract with the reigning World Series champs. Talk about a power move by L.A.!

The Dodgers’ pitching staff is already a force to be reckoned with; it just got scarier.

Let’s not forget they landed two marquee names this offseason: two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell and the electrifying Japanese ace Roki Sasaki.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox have been making their moves in Boston, but the bullpen still feels like a work in progress.

Signing Garrett Crochet and trading for Walker Buehler has dramatically bolstered the rotation, but there’s still a noticeable gap in relief pitching.

The Sox need a reliable, lights-out arm to round out their corps and keep them competitive, especially in an AL East packed with firepower.
Time isn’t precisely on Boston’s side here.

Spring training is just around the corner—February 12, to be exact—and Craig Breslow, the team’s new Chief Baseball Officer, has to act fast if he wants to shore up this roster.

Red Sox Nation is no stranger to last-minute deals, but it’s hard not to feel jealous watching the Dodgers lock in one of the most coveted arms of the offseason.

So, will Boston make a move to counter? Or will they gamble on the pieces they already have in place? Stay tuned because this offseason just got a whole lot more interesting.
